Reknown for centuries for its sweet flavorful meat, the Berkshire Pig is the oldest pure breed pig in the U.S.  Berkshire pigs were commonplace in the nineteenth century, but now are considered a rare breed.

Legend holds that Oliver Cromwell discovered the Berkshire breed more than 300 years ago while his army was wintering at Reading, the county seat of the shire of Berks in England. Berkshire swine were first brought to Japan as a diplomatic gift from the British government in the 19th century. The breed has thrived in Japan and is synonymous for a stellar dining experience rivaling that of Kobe beef.

The breed was refined and has remained a pure breed since the early 1800s. In 1875, the American Berkshire Association (ABA) became the nation's first swine registry and has maintained pedigree records ever since.

Our registered Berkshire Pork (Kurobuta) are born and raised on the farm.  We grow all of the food that our animals eat.  The corn, vegetables, fruits, and grass are certified organic.  If we won't eat it, we won't feed it to our animals! They are raised without the use of added hormones or antibiotics.

Our farm raised Kurobuta pork is lean, with shorter muscle fibers and finer marbling. It is deep pink in color, sweet, juicy and delicious.

We sell our pork by the cut at selected farmers' markets in Atlanta. Bulk purchases, and whole and half animal purchases are also available for individuals, restaurants, and businesses. Call us for delivery details and pricing.
